Weddings in Maui on 7-7-7 Part II

After our first wedding. We headed to our second wedding. The second wedding was a local wedding for the bride and groom so it was much different than the wedding we did earlier that day. This wedding was held at the Sheraton in Maui with over 300 guests. So we had our work cut out for us.

During this wedding Mike let me use his wide angle lens, which I fell in love with. With this lens I was able to get so much more in my shots. For example, shooting the bride with her bridesmaids or the groom with his groomsmen I was able to get everyone in the shot. I had so much fun with this lens, I was just shooting almost everything. I decided this might have to be my next purchase for my camera:)

Shooting this wedding was a lot of fun. I felt like I was able to make a better connection with the bride and groom, since we were able to spend all day with them. As a result of this connection, it allowed me to get closer and capture all those moments without making them feel uncomfortable. I realized a big difference with the other wedding earlier that day because that bride and groom instantly froze when the camera got close to them. With this couple they still acted natural, just being in the moment and enjoying everything around them. It reflects this all in the pictures.

Overall, both of the experiences, although totally different, was such a great exposure for me as I am still developing my style and work. When it comes to weddings anything can happen, you just have to be ready on your toes and be there to document it all.

Thanks Mike, really you're the best!

I can't find words to discribe how proud of you I am for you following your dreams. Some people (you) have the drive and the confidence to succeed in anything you put effort in, others (me) only dreams so big and therefire I am limited to what I'll accomplish, but I will live through you and enojy all that you do with your time, energy, and wisdom. I am pleased you had a good time with Mikey in Maui, shots from the island look great! Job well done, keep up the amazing photography.

Love, K-LO
